Classroom Management System:
We are also implementing a new behaviors system into place. The behaviors board will replace the clothespin system as I believe it will be easier for the class to comprehend. Basically the behaviors board gives every student four index cards: green, yellow, orange, and pink. Every student starts their day out on green, which represents following the classroom expectations. If students keep their cards green all day they get a punch in their punch card which, once full, can be traded in for prizes. If they are not following expectations they flip a card to reveal a yellow "warning" card that serves to remind them to think about the choices they are making. If the poor behavior choices persist then they will flip a card to reveal an orange "ticket" card that results in a consequence or loss of privilege. If the behavior choices continue to be poor then the last card they will flip to will be pink. The pink card means the student will have to call home. I have attached pictures of this system below this post.
At any point in the day if a student acts in way that is extremely disruptive to the class or dangerous in a way that is not remedied using our classroom management system I reserve the right to call home, contact the principle, or have the student removed from my classroom a appropriate period of time. This room will be safe and everyone has the right to a good learning environment.
